The Dominican Republic

For Alyssa's fall break in October we were thinking of flying up to New England and exploring. Alyssa thought otherwise, and found out that Punta Cana, Dominica Republic sounded better. Looks like she was right!!!!!

Here she is with all of the instructors for the trapeze at the Club Med Resort
Sunset at the beach
We departed Chandler after work on Friday and flew to San Antonio. We stayed the night with Jenni and Mason, went out to Rudy's for some barbeque, and flew out early Saturday morning for Florida. From there it was a direct flight to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. A total of 8.5 hours of flying over 3 legs to get there. We had a life raft and life jackets on board as we flew over 650 miles of open ocean.
We took a quick day trip to Santo Domingo to attend the Temple.
Sorry for the bad picture of the Temple, but lots of humidity and it fogged up the lens of the camera.
Here is a picture of the resort from our airplane. Yes, we flew down in a little four-seat aircraft. No, it was not scary. It was FUN!!!!!!!!
Here is the terminal for private aircraft in Punta Cana
We took another day trip to a eco resort.

Here is the resort and our welcome coconut juice
On the day trip to the eco resort we traveled through the mangroves

Lots of big leaves, bugs, bats, birds, etc.

Here we are out in the open ocean traveling with another group of pilots touring
We flew into four different airport while in the Dominican republic. Everywhere we landed the plane brought out a crowd. Lots and lots of questions--how fast, how far does it fly, pressurized?, what type of engine, did you really build it, etc.
Beautiful beach. Here is a video below of Alyssa doing the trapeze.
