Day 3 Champex to Cabane Louvie

Due to thick fog and rain when we woke up in Champex we were forced to use another route today.

We started with a bus ride to the train station located a few towns away. Then two different trains and then another bus ride to Fionnay.

The trail was only a bit over 4 miles long but straight up climbing 2600 ft. We ended at Cabane Louvie where we are using 4 of 54 available bunks in 3 large rooms.



We are using 4 of these 18 bunks in this room. Because the weather was so bad we had this room to ourselves.

Here was the view from the front porch when the fog clearer briefly. Gorgeous!!! We basically stayed in the heated common room most of the afternoon except for a brief 30 mins of clearing due to bad weather and 41 degree temperatures outside with fog and rain.

They are predicting sunny skies for the next few days. We sure hope so!!!!!
