Here is the hotel we are staying at. It is 2-3 miles from the old city and in a very nice area for evening strolls.

First on today's agenda-- sea kayaking. We started right next to the old city and enjoyed going along its tall walls. We then crossed over to Lokrum Island and paddled around the entire island. Nobody is allowed to live on the island.

If you are wondering why we took a 30 galling drum with us that is what we used to keep out stuff dry.

We stopped for a couple of swims along the way and Florence decided where we would be going back to the island for an afternoon of swimming.

So after kayaking in the morning we had the rest of the day to do whatever we wanted. So we bought a bus ticket into town, and then a ferry ticket out to the island of Lokrum.

Yes, we jumped off some big tall rocks. Nothing more than 20 ft or so. Florence went first.

The water was clear, clear, clear.

You can even see her water shoes five feet under the surface.

There is an old monastery on the island With wild peacocks making noise all over the place.

We came back to the old city after four hours of swimming, hiking, jumping, and reading on the island. Here I am waiting for dinner. A sidewalk table in the old city.

We went Italian, Caesar salad and the pizza with ham, bacon and gorgonzola cheese. It was great!

Florence loves the many beautiful staircases.

More stairs

Here is a picture of the island of Lokrum at dusk from the old city harbor.
Tomorrow off for some river rafting.
