Traveling to Dubrovnik

We woke up at 5:30 am because we had no air conditioning in our hotel room and slept with the balcony windows open. So we went out for an hour of exploring and a morning swim. Only people swimming at the hour.


We thought we had a few minutes on the way to the ferry so we climbed these stairs to see a old chapel.


Here it is.


We got to the ferry at 8:58 am planning for a 9:30 am departure. Guess what. We were the last car on for a 9 am departure. A close call.

We went to Ston, the longest walled city in Europe and the next longest to the great wall of china. Dating from 1333.


We climbed it up and over to the other side and were picked up there by Tino.





We stopped at a winery. Good for them they sold olive oil as well.


Lunch was great. Right on the river.


Risotto with shrimp and veggies, a special meat dish. Best meal yet!

We went to a museum on top of Mt. Srd at Napoleon's fortress describing the war that took place here from 1991-1995.


We hiked the entire wall around Dubrovnik. Lots of interesting sights and sounds to see.

We caught the last song of this group when they performed in Split so we enjoyed the entire performance here. Held in the Cathedral church within Old Town.


We were taken to this cool coffee bar made out of a cave.


Too bad we don't drink coffee.
